The European Commission organises an information day on 8 December to present the 2016 Energy efficiency calls for proposals under the Horizon 2020 programme. For the period 2016-2017, the programme foresees energy efficiency calls for proposals, for an amount of approximately €194 million. This will provide support to research and demonstration projects of more energy-efficient technologies and systems, including in buildings.

In particular, funding will be provided to selected projects aiming to achieve a ‘Deep renovation of buildings’, which equals at least 60% energy savings compared to pre-renovation levels. Furthermore, to projects aiming at a ‘Cost reduction of new Nearly Zero Energy Buildings (NZEB)’, that increases the market uptake of these type of buildings. In this respect, an informative session will be dedicated to these topics during the 2016 Energy efficiency calls info day, to inform participants of the specific requirements for these project proposals.

The 2016 calls for proposals on ‘Deep renovation of buildings’ and ‘Cost reduction of new NZEB’ are planned to open on 15 March 2016, and will run until the 15 September 2016 deadline.

Please note that the event will be webstreamed. For more information see here.
