Aleksander Dariusz Panek 1955-2014

We have learned with great sadness that Mr Aleksander Dariusz Panek, President and co-founder of the National Energy Conservation Agency passed away on 17th of August in Warsaw, Poland.

Mr Panek was one of the first partners to develop the Active House Alliance and a strong supporter of development of sustainable buildings. He helped spread the Active House Vision. Mr Panek encouraged his students to look at buildings from a sustainability perspective and was always eager to contribute to the discussion on the optimal development of buildings. He supported the Active House Alliance in his work in Poland and made an invaluable contribution to communicating the Active House ideas. He will be remembered as a man of great dedication.

Mr Panek was also a member of the board of the Foundation for Energy Conservation, president and co-founder of the Association of Energy Auditors and an international expert in evaluation of energy performance of buildings.
